Love and security are like good friends, for their existence shape the person you are and who you become. Do you know that you have been loved? In what sense? And I am not talking about the general kind of love we often think of. But rather, it is the love that have a grounding root into the core of our identity, which affect our responses to the life situation and people we are connected with daily.
First, a person who knows that he/she is loved would do things out of a heart that is secure, elevated, inspiring and sincere. There is no double mindedness and back-thought of any expectation or condition to get something in return. It is always of a freewill to help, support and see other success. It is sincere and comes from a pure intent.
As the scripture in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
This has a deep root into the person’s past and how he/she received love from the very first place. The family background, the surrounding people, friends and cultural background, they played a big impact in shaping the person’s core identity and security. You are able to give what you had received in the first place.
So, what kind of love you are exerting into your community? Have you search your heart today? Are there any insecurity that you need to face?
